I have Albert Ritter born Jan., 1892 in Texas. I show his parents to be Thomas S. Lafitte and Emma Virginia Bailey Ritter. I have Thomas Ritter b. Apr. 10, 1866 in Texas, died Jan. 30, 1948 in Panola County, Tx. Emma was born Sept. 1870 in Texas and I don't have a death date for her. Thomas' parents were Benjamin Franklin and Margaret A. Ball Ritter.I have Benjamin b. June e11, 1834 poss. in TN. and died Nov. 3, 1902 in Panola County, Texas.Margaret was b. Oct. 24, 1838 in Ga. and died Jan. 31, 1901 in Panola County, Texas. I give you this information just so another set of eyes can see and if we have something different then I need to take another look.
Now...yes, I have Everett Solomon Ritter (my 3rd gr grandfather). He was born in 1810 either in Ala. or TN.He died Dec. 4, 1873 in Van Zandt, Texas. His Civil War Pension Records say he died in Van Zandt County, Tx., but I have never been able to verify it. At one time Van Zandt was in Panola County, Texas, so that still needs to be ferreted out. He was married to Anna Goodwin on May 15, 1828. He and Anna's brother signed the Marriage Bond. I have a copy of both the Bond and the Marriage Certificate.
A Ritter cousin of mine just did the DNA project that takes us from Everett to Jesse Ritter, Sr. for sure, but not a definite match for Jesse Ritter, Jr., so we are not sure if Everett might not have come from another of Jesse Ritter, Sr.'s sons.
I have a lot of information on Everett and will be most happy to share what I have.
