WALLINGFORD - Joseph A. Bielak, 71, of Wallingford, departed this life on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008 at Marathon Health Care in New Haven.
Joe was born on March 13, 1937, in Meriden, son of the late Francis and Amiela (Jarosz) Bielak. Joe was an U.S. Army Veteran serving overseas in Germany. He worked as a letter carrier for more than 35 years with the U.S. Postal Service in Wallingford. He was a lifelong communicant of Ss. Peter & Paul Church in Wallingford as well as a member of the VFW Post 591, American Legion, and the Wallingford Polish National Alliance. He was an umpire with the Wallingford Recreational Softball League, and Wallingford School System.
He will be sadly missed by his three sons, John Ritchotte and his wife, Jennifer of Wallingford, Dennis Bielak and his wife, Ann of North Haven, and Peter Bielak of Dover, N.H.; he also leaves four grandchildren, Courtney Ritchotte, John Ritchotte, Shanna Bielak, and Madalyn Bielak; and two nephews, Benjamin Bielak of Massachusetts, and Ross Bielak of Colorado. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Benjamin and Frank Bielak.
Mass of Christian burial Wednesday, Nov. 12 at Ss. Peter and Paul's Church in Wallingford. Interment Ss. Peter and Paul's Cemetery in Wallingford.
