I have been given information but no proof and now I question its veracity. Margaret Jane Ritchie's father was George Pinkney Ritchie. Who were his parents? I have been told they were Martin Alexander Ritchie and Elizabeth Cress - married in Jul 1853 and Elizabeth died in Mar 1854. Martin then married her sister Martha in Nov 1854 and they had 10 children. Did Elizabeth die in childbirth and did Martha raise George? He's not listed under MArtin and Martha's children in many sources. Any help would be great.
