The great grandparents of my wife (Carol Ritchie Seeks)are listed as Joseph and Hannah Louisa Child Stafford Ritchie in the 1861 census of Wisbech, Cambridgeshire along with Joseph's brother William's family. They lived in the hamlet of ELm near Wisbech. Their antecedents are a mystery to us. Has anyone ever heard of these families, their parents, siblings, or origins? In 1861 Joseph was 44,and William was 53. Carol's grandfather James Frederic emigrated to Michigan's Courtland Twp. Kent County in 1871 at the age of 19.
