Perhaps not a connection but a possibility. My great grandmother's name was Margot (Margaret, Margarethe, etc) Rasmus Risto. She married William H. Cummings in St. Louis, MO mid 1800s. Her father's name was Herman Risto and their place of origin was Germany. Family stories suggested it was actually Alsace. Margot Risto is believed to have come to the US with siblings in steerage to VA. One child died during the passage and Margot's two brothers were adopted by different families in VA. Margot died in Springfield, MO 1922.
