My Ristopoli ancestry is as follows:
1. Giuseppe Ristopoli, b. 11 December 1879, Cutro; d. 11 January 1917, Mt. Clare, West Virginia, as a result of a mining car accident in Hutchinson Mine in same town. He had a brother Francesco Ristopoli who he listed as his contact at Ellis Island. Francesco was in Pittsburgh at 801 Wesbster Avenue. I believe he had another brother named Antonio Ristopoli. One of these two brothers lived in Philadelphia and was unmarried. Giuseppe changed his last name to Stoffle in America. They all arrived around 1905.
2. Father of Giuseppe was Martino Ristopoli, b. 11 November 1833 in Cutro; died 15 August 1895 in Cutro. Martino was a foundling left at the nun's door with his name and date of birth pinned to his clothes.
3. Mother of Giuseppe was Caterina Polla ?Abate?, born 1 December 1838 in Cutro; died 24 May 1916, in Cutro. (NOTE: I do not understand what the "Abate" is. I always had her name as Polla, but someone in Cutro mailed me her name with Abate on end. I don't know if that is her name or some other notation.) Her father was Genarro Polla and her mother was Giuseppina Vucisano.
