Thanks for answering my email! I'm looking for ANY descendents of Jakob/Jacobus Risling, b 11/6/1832. If your ancestors are from Odessa Oblast, Ukraine (then, Imperial Russia); Franzfeld, Selz, or any other Kutschurgan villages, THEY ARE PROBABLY RELATED. We always spelled it with two S's, but in letters from my gr-gr-aunt Theresa to my grandfather, her nephew, she spells her name "Risling", with only one S. I have also seen the following spellings: Riesling, Rysling, Riszling, Rhysling, etc. Please let me know of your connection with the Rislings. There is mention in Theresa's letters to my GF, of a family; Kirolusha & Rosa Risling, and their 9 children, but I don't know the exact connection. She calls some of the children Aunt & Uncle, but I don't know if they are great-aunt, great-uncle or what. Anxious to hear from you.
