This news article caught my eye last week while reviewing the "New
Jersey Mirror," and I thought it might be of interest to someone on the
list. Apologies for any duplication/cross postings.

Wednesday, May 17, 1820, p. 3, col. 4

Headline: Hartford, (Con.) May 2.

THUNDER STORM - The storm on Sunday evening the 23d ult.
was very severe in several of the neighbouring towns. At Granby,
we learn that Miss Julia Higley, 17 years of age, daughter of Mr.
Ozias Higley, Jr was instantly killed by the lightning, whilst sit-
ting by the window. A barn in Southwick, belonging to Mr. Walter
Rising, was likewise struck, and entirely consumed, together
with several head of cattle.

Happy hunting,
Paula

PS. Sorry, I am not researching either of these surnames.
