Thank you for replying. Feel free to contact me at mcg4me@home.com. I do have george Pickens Rish in my tree! I have his wife as Minnie Margaret Woodward...could be wrong and yours correct. I have her parents as William Jefferson Woodward and Laura Virginia Wade. I, too am serching for some Rishs from Lexington County. My greatgrandfather was William Wilson Woodward and he married a Mary Rish. We do know that she was born abt 1844 in Lexington County. We are pretty sure her parents were Adam Rish & mary Holman. We know that she had a sister named Martha who had a daughter by an unknown Woodward. Her name was Allie Rish. Martha (widow) and Allie were living with William and Mary according to the 1900 & 1910 census. Mary died sometime after 1910 because William remarried in 1912 at the age 0f 64. He then had my grandfather at age 66! He died October 31, 1924 in Graniteville, SC. We have all of Allie's info, who she married and her children. Martha and Allie are buried at Levels Baptist Church in Aiken, SC. Don't know where Mary is buried. William's death certificate says that he is buried at Reece Family Burial grounds. We have searched high and low and have come up with nothing. We did however find a Rish Family Burial grounds outside of Aiken, SC. It has a daughter of William & Mary buried there. There are a half a dozen or so unmarked graves, and we feel that maybe one of those are Williams. We think the death certificate must be wrong. I was told by someone that Reece was derived from Rish...have you ever heard this? Well, sorry to be so long. Talk soon.
