I have a photocopy of the John RISBROUGH family Bible which I obtained from the Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania, with the following RISBROUGH information which I hope will be useful to someone:

John RISBROUGH b. 1 May 1780, ENG, [does not specify where in England] d. 1859; m. Margaret CAREY b 27 Apr 1782, d 1859.

They married on 2 July 1808 and had the following children:

1. Eleanor RISBROUGH b. 4 Apr 1809 d. 1810

2. Edward RISBROUGH b. 31 May 1811 d. 1845.
Note for Edward: Born in Dieppe, FRANCE

3. Henry RISBROUGH b. 18 Apr 1813; m. Caroline Amelia GUILKEY b. 1823
Note for Henry: He was born aboard the cartel ship "Robinson Potter" en route to America from England

4. William Stafford RISBROUGH b. 21 Jan 1815 in Phila., d. 1834

5. Robert Henry RISBROUGH b. 11 Nov 1816 d. 1847

6. Mary Blake RISBROUGH b. 7 Jan 1821 in Phila., d. 24 Mar 1883. Married Francis CARPENTER b. 1811

7. Margaret Carey RISBROUGH b. 24 May 1822 d. 1823

My husband's ancestors are Mary Blake RISBROUGH and Francis CARPENTER. I cannot find any other RISBROUGH history than this, so if anyone can make a connection, let me know! I also have some of the grandchildren's information.

Cheers, Barbara Lee Englewood, NJ
