Noticed your posting about the Rippingtons in Brentford. Don't know if there is connection but I have a Richard Rippington born 1776 in Oxfordshire. His father John died in 1813 at the age of 65 in Brentford and taken back to Oxfordshire to be buried, where he had lived all his life. Why he had been in Brentford is unknown but I can only presume he was visiting family.
The Oxfordshire Rippingtons were all farmers, graziers and butchers which fits in with your John Walter's father's occupation of Cow Keeper as per the 1851 Census.
Do you have any more evidence to connect these two families?

Martin
