This is not right, my grgrgrandfather's parents were William John Ripley and Mary Elizabeth Scott, Mary Elizabeth died in Champaign Co, Ohio in 1839 and William John was killed in a runaway on his way back to Ohio from Illinois in 1843. My grgrgrandfather George Washington Ripley had been indentured out to a miller Isaac Braucher from Pickaway Co., Ohio who had moved his mill to Logan Co., Ill.He was about 8 ot 9 years old. He gtew uo in the Braucher household, got married in Logan County, had his first children there and served in the 32nd Ill. Infantry during the Civil War as a 1st Lt. After the war, he homesteaded in Montgomery Co., Kansas where he died in 1883. I appreciate your help with my quest and am going to search more Ruby
