I just discovered this Rinkel site and would like to hear from any or all of you following this line. My gg grandmother was Katherine Rinkel. She married David Buettner (Bittner) on 24 February 1846 in St. Louis. Katherine died on 1 July 1906. On her death certificate it says her father was Gustov Rinkel and her mother was Catherine Schmidt. I suspect the David Buettner may have been a brother to George Buettner who married Catherina Rinkel, and that the brothers married sisters but I can't prove it. At any rate they are surely related as they are shown in various places as being from Altenheim Baden and many of them and their decendents were buried in St. Marcus Cemetery.
