Adrian-
I had requested Wilson's death certificate, and his father was listed as Mathias Ringle, and his mother simply having the maiden name Devinny.
It's been awhile since I have done the research, and some of my files are stashed away, but I recall it may have been cemetery records in Blairsville that showed Anna Devinny as wife of Mathias. Census information also lists Mathias and Anna Ringle, but there were several Mathias Ringles in the area, so it way be a different Mathias who was the gunsmith?
Anna Ringle lived to be quite old, and I requested her death certificate, but it did not list her parents. She was born in 1809 and died October 31, 1903 (outlasting the following newspaper clipping by almost a year!).
"Mrs. Ringle, widow of the late Matthias Ringle, is quite seriously ill and faint hopes are entertained for her recovery. Mrs. Ringle is one of Blairsville's oldest residents being aged about 90 years. She is the mother of John M. Ringle and Miss Belle Ringle." ~ Indiana County Gazzette, November 5, 1902
The mention of John M. Ringle was a new name for me. Miss (Anna) Belle Ringle never married, lived with her mother until her mother's death, and ran a boarding house in Blairsville. There's a newspaper account of thieves taking some provisions in a string of robberies.
Here's the list of children that I have pulled from census and other info:
George Ringle b. abt. 1837
Sarah b. 1842
Wilson's death certificate lists his birth as 11/30/1840, and his death as March 1918 in Allegheny County, Swissvale, however other information (census info?) lists his birth as 1845.
James b. 9/1/1847 died 9/11/1865 -- may be buried Blairsville Cemetery, Indiana Co., listed as "son of M&A Ringle." which would fit with Mathias and Anna Ringle
Sylvester b. abt. 1851
Anna Belle b. abt. 4/1855 died Blairsville abt. 1931
John M. b??
Wilson did marry Emma Keagy, and they had 11 children, 7 of whom I have names for.
Maybe Eliza Singley was Mathias' first wife, but since Wilson's death certificate lists his birth as 1840, and his mother's maiden name as Devinny, the dates are a little off. If Wilson was actually born 1845, then that would be a little closer to Eliza's date of death but still not quite right.
Not sure if this info helps. There are quite a few Devinny's (Devinney's) in the Blairsville Cemetery.
