Hi Penny,

Maryland patent records were transcribed when they deteriorated to the extent that the records were going to be lost. In 1717 Liber H was transcribed and the original no longer exists. Existing Patent Record A, B & H is a transcript of Liber H. Page 184 includes this record "Mr. Thomas Kingould demandeth four hundred acres of land for transporting himself and Barbara his wife and John and James Kingould his sons into this province in the year 1649". This entry was made 13 Dec 1649.

I can find no other mention of the name Kingould in Maryland records and assume that a mistake was made in transcribing the record.
