RUSHVILLE - Elizabeth "Jan" Ring, 63, of Rushville died Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2006, at her home. She was born April 5, 1943, in Beardstown, the daughter of Ben and Margaret Bell Carnahan. She married Merle L. Ring in 1964 in Beardstown. Mrs. Ring graduated from Beardstown High School in 1961, earned an associate's degree from Lincoln Land Community College in early childhood and attended Western Illinois University. She began as owner and operator of Ring Daycare in Virginia in 1973 and later retired as a teacher's aide from Gard Elementary School in Beards-town after 12 years. She then served as a substitute teacher. Survivors: husband, Merle; two daughters, Lisa (husband, Pete) Dupoy of Rushville and Wendy (husband, Rob) Baker of Camden; three grandchildren; and three brothers, Ben (wife, Carol) Carnahan of Oakwood, Bob Carnahan of Effingham and Tom (wife, Doris) Carnahan of Galesburg. Memorial graveside services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Beardstown City Cemetery. Sager Funeral Home in Beardstown is in charge of arrangements. Notify Administrator about this message?
