This sure sounds like a good possibility that the two John Rineharts are the same person. I got his birth (1848) date from a census record and those can be off a year depending on when the census was taken and the person's birthdate.
Did your John have other children? and what were there names? Naming a daughter Rebecca makes it sound like the same John. Do you have his wife's name? Please contact me at cajalz@comcast.net. I will give you what data I have.
