My great grandfather, John Rinehart, was born in 1847, although I am not sure where. I have his service record, and it has two different places of birth, and I found no record of him in either place. I do not know his parents' names, nor any siblings. He had a daughter, however, who was named Rebecca. He was paid $200.00 to join the service for someone in Portsmouth, OH. ( I am not sure of these facts, but I have them in my files.) I would LOVE to hear from you if you think that this could be a possibility. I look forward to hearing from you!
