Mark, Got to the Mt.Vernon library recently to check out why
I said be careful about the Rine/Underwood book. The author
has changed it since he first began his research, about
twenty years ago when I first saw it, it included a Anthony
Ryan of Coshocton Co.Oh (who later turned out to be no
relation and was of Irish heritage.) The only major flaw
I saw this time was that William Rine (who married first
cousin Nancy) was under children of Rudolph & Barbara, when
we now know him to be a son of Casper & Margreth, and his
wife Nancy is the daughter of Rudolph & Barbara.
In regard to the New Guilford Cemetery, the records for
the older section probably do not exist anymore. There were
once stones there for Barbara (Rudolph's wife) and for
Nancy, her daughter, but they are now gone, probably broke
off and discarded. I should have taken pictures twenty years
ago. Too late now, although I remember what area they were
located. My gggf Rudolph & wife Elizabeth, and ggf George
Totten and wife Isabell (Rine) are buried there.
My dad is the sexton for another cemetery (Mt.Zion) in
Knox Co. and they also have no records for the oldest graves.
Regards,
Lonnie
