Hi Jo Anne,

I have tried for sometime to reach someone on the Rinard side and glad you responded to my query.

This is what I know which is not much. My great grandmother was named Ida Mae and she had a brother George and no one knows his family where he lived or where he is buried at. I did trace my grandmother and was not easy and this is what I got. Her parents were Jacob Felton and Thisbe Jane Rinard and were married in Grant County, Indiana on June 08, 1872 and he died November 07, 1902. Not sure where he is buried or the year he died. My grandmother said he lived with her towards his end years. But back then records were not requried and would be hard to find. In researching on the 1880 census I found a George H. Felton who Jacob Felton raised as his own but was actually the child of Thisbe Jane Wimmer and Jacob Rinard.
They were married June 1st, 1863 in Henry County, Indiana.
In 1850 it mentions George Rinard who was from N.C. and his wife Catherine Ready with their children William, Nancy, John, and Jacob. Then in 1860 it mentions George, Catherine, and Jacob. Catherine came from Kentucky. Then in 1870 it list Jacob, Thisbe and their son George H. who was 3 then. Jacob Rinard died 08/27/1870 and is buried in Back Creek Friend Cemetery, where many Feltons are listed. A researcher and Wimmer descendent called a elderly woman who grandfather, Adam Rinard, was Jacob Rinard's brother, to see if she remembered anything about Jacob. She remembered hearing of him, and that he had a son named George, but nothing else.

Does any of this sound familiar and do you have anything to share or any old photos? Also I believe George's grandfather was a Rev. and do you have anything to share on this? I would be interested in what you can tell me about George. Let me know.

Violet
