researching artist M Rinaldi

I recently stumbled upon a wonderful oil on canvas painting by M. Rinaldi and snapped it up immediately without knowing anything about the artist. (Neither did the seller apparently, to my great benefit!) There is no assigned title but taped to the back I found a faded typewritten blurb almost identical to the one referred to in Mary's follow up (Oct 1, 2001). Mine is a nicely framed seascape 24"X36" in perfect condition and very similar to a painting I found on the artnet.com website. According to Artnet's past auction results on M. Rinaldi, that painting, entitled "The Crashing Waves" was sold at auction at Sloans & Kenyon, April 22, 2007. I am not an Artnet member so am not privvy to the selling price. I found another fairly similar painting named "Coastal Scene with a Fishing Boat" for sale at Peddler's Trunk Antiques (via rubylane.com website) however that one is unframed, considerably smaller and damaged. Still, they want $900 for it so I would guess something like mine is worth considerably more. It looks like M. Rinaldi was entranced by the sea at sunrise and had a favorite scene in his head that he painted over and over, always to great effect. Lucky for those of us who have one of them!
