My name is Peggy Rhymer Roberts. I have tried researching the Rhymer family history. Haven't had a lot of luck because of the different spellings of the name. Rhymer, Rimer, Rymer, Rimmer. My Uncle Wes Rhymer's daughter has done more research. Someone told her that the Rhymer's are from Wales. I don't have any documentation to proove this. I too would like to have documentation as to where the Rhymer's orginated. My dad's name, Jimmie Rhymer. His branch of the family (as far as I can determine) were from Rowan Co. NC. They moved to Tippah Co. MS. before the Civil War. James and Piety Trott Rhymer are my great, great, grandparents. Piety died in MS during the Civil War. James "supposedly join the Union Army, Memphis TN. He moved his family to Southern IL after the Civil War. They located in the Jonesboro, IL area (Union Co.). I would like to hear from you, if you are a distant cousin or related in someway.
Thank you.
Peggy Rhymer Roberts
