I have William Riley b. abt. 1786 in Virginia m. to Margaret b. abt 1788 in Virginia. They moved to Madison Co., Kentucky after 1822 (child Julia Ann was b. 1822 in Virginia).I know I don't have all their children. They owned land on Otter Creek in Madison Co., Kentucky which they sold to Edward Logsdon and his parents George & Sally 25 Feb 1843 and I think it was pursuant to daughter, Margaret Riley's, marriage to Edward 27 Nov 1843 in Madison Co., Kentucky -- perhaps a dowry.I have Bailey Riley's estate sale records where Emmaline buys things from the estate.Apparently,Emmmaline is Bailey's 2nd wife as they were married 29 Dec 1840.The estate sale is ordered by the county of Madison during their November 1842 term and then inventory ordered into record in December 1842.Sale of the estate was February 1843 with William Riley as administrator -- don't know if this was William his brother or his son.William E. M. Riley also purchases things from the estate and I believe he is the son of William, brother of Bailey.
Hope some of this sounds familiar to you.Can you add anything to it?
Thanks,
Lynn Logsdon Williams
