Sumner County, Tennessee in the Civil War
Rigsby, David Shadric - Co. G, 4th Tennessee Cavalry (McLemore's). Enlisted Dec. 7, 1861 and
served over three years. Captured and paroled in Oct. 1864. Then enlisted in Capt. Kiney's company of
Smith's regiment, which became a part of the 8th Regiment of Tennessee Cavalry. Deserted Jan. 1, 1865
and took the oath at Nashville Feb. 8, 1865. From White House. Widow Myra Ann. Pension No. 3618.

7th Tennessee Cavalry Battalion,
Rigsbee, Sidney B.* - Enlisted October 19, 1861. From Richland Station. Sent with James T. Austin
to take John R. Culbreath, who was sick, to his home near Richland. Returning to the army in haste, his
horse fell on him in Gallatin, January 1, 1862. Hips fractured. Pelvic bone broken. Ruptured. Bedfast
three months. On crutches three months. Refused a discharge. Left in Tennessee February 17, 1862, on
retreat from Bowling Green. Unable to ride. Was marked deserted. As soon as able, enlisted in
Company E, 9th Tennessee Cavalry, also see.
