I am gratified that jc is still finding documents that give wonderful clues for a lot of people searching for their ancestors. However I have to disagree with something in the rootsweb.ancestry.com document. "12. Nehemiah Riggs was born 1793, and died 1869. He was the son of 24. John Riggs, Sr and 25. Elizabeth Morriss." See my post on this Riggs forum #2750. There is a list of all John Riggs and Elizabeth Morriss children and 16 of their grandchildren as listed in a petition by Elizabeth after John Riggs died in 1837. 7 sons and 4 daughters and the 16 grandchildren (children of 2 of the sons and one daughter who died before their father) none of them are named Nehemiah. (I posted this from a copy of the original that I got from the archives in Raleign, N. C. so it is not a transcript of a transcript.) I have been in contact with one of Nehemia's decendents in Princess Ann County, Va and we came to the conclusion that Nehemiah b. 1793 was a son of Evan Riggs of Pasquotank County. Evan MAY be a brother of John born 1743/4, but no solid proof ot that. Evan was a son of Isaac Riggs who died about 1804 and Ruth ? of Pasquotank/Camden area and had a brother John as well as a brother Nehemiah (older than the Nehemiah in question). I only know there is no evidence that Nehemiah Riggs b. 1793 is a son of John and Elizabeth Morriss of Onslow County. Rickey Notify Administrator about this message?
