In reading the different queries from the forum page, its seems many folks are looking for a Charles Riggin in N.C. I have a clue of his origins which I extracted from my web page.Hope this helps
?unplaced 5. RIGGIN, Charles b.? Md.
Note:(a Charles Riggen who enlisted and served in the Revolutionary War in Charles County, Maryland (on mainland, in "Southern Maryland, across the bay from the eastern shore)(enlisted by Samuel Jones and passed by Wm. Harrison 27 July 1776- ref Muster Roll - Md. Troops contained in the Maryland Historical Society , Clearfield Co. Balt 1996- R.A. Riggin). There are Rev War military records for only one Charles Riggen, Riggin, or Riggins. Later this Charles, of the Revolutionary War, collected this pension from Warren County, Halifax District,North Carolina. We don't find any trace of a Charles Riggen, his age, growing up in
the Laurel, Delaware- (ref. Jim Burgess) (A Charles Riggin is listed in the 1790Census Halifax District Warren Co. N.C. 1m 16-26 2m und 16, 7f. Due to the ageand location this is likely the son of Charles Riggin Am. Rev War veteran and it is
also possible this Charles Riggin had no relationship to the Charles Jr. of
Som./Worc./Sussex Cos. R.A.Riggin 2000)
