SAM T. RIEL 12/18/1961 The Parkersburg News, Parkersburg, WV
Sam T. Riel, 84, of 316 Marrtown Rd., was pronounced dead on arrival at Camden-Clark Memorial hospital Saturday night.
He was born in Wood county Jan. 8, 1877, a son of David and Sarah VanLear Riel, and was a retired carpenter.
Survivors include his widow, Mary Riel; four sons, James W. Riel of Parkersburg, William H. Riel of Plymouth, O., Robert L. Riel of Parkersburg, and Paul F. Riel of Vienna; a daughter, Mrs. Howard Burd of Mogadore, O., 25 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three children, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at the Kimes funeral home at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Carl Nutter officiating. Burial wil be in Bethel cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after noon today.

Funeral services for Samuel T. Riel were held on December 19, 1961, at 3:30 p.m. at Kimes Funeral Home in Parkersburg, WV, with the Rev. Carl Nutter officiating.
Interment was in Bethel Cemetery.
