General 'Name' spelling and derivations

I am looking for more information on my GG Grandfather - Christian Reile/Rieley/Reule, and I have noticed very little use of the spellings of his surname. I have no more than the spelling of his name than I am providing in this query.

I am inclined to beleive the correct spelling of his surname is 'Reile' as it was used in his Oath of Allegiance when he immigrated to the USA from Prussia about 1857 through Texas.

I do have a bit of information on his birth, birth place, wife - never enough, though - and descendents. However, I am more interested, at the moment, of the 'trek' of the surname from 'Reile', and if the surname 'Riehle' is connected.

Thanks for your guidance and input.

Kenneth
