Our reunion group is searching for Johnny Riedel, an old friend who lived at Nellingen Barracks, Germany in the early 1960s. We were military dependents & lived at this small US Army post outside of Stuttgart. Johnny graduated from Ludwigsburg American High School in 1963. We all lost contact with each other when we moved back to the States.
Johnny is German by birth. What makes this search so difficult is that we aren't sure if RIEDEL is his German last name or if it is his stepfather's last name. The main thing we recall is that Johnny's German grandmother (no info on her name, etc.) stipulated in her will that he must remain in Germany in order to inherit anything from her estate. We think that he may have remained there when his family moved back to the States, but we really don't know for sure. Even if he did, he may have moved from Germany since then.
We have spent several years searching for him and have recently had some help from a friend who lives in Germany -- still no luck in finding him. Since we really don't have much information to go on, our hopes are dimming that we will ever find our old friend & classmate. MAYBE someone who reads messages on this site will recognize the person and situation I am asking about --- if so, please write to me immediately! Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
