Hello Neal,
I was just surfing Google for my Riedel name and came across your post from January 28, 2002:
Can anyone tell me at what church this man was pastor at in Brooklyn, N. Y. and for how long? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Reverend John Paul Riedel was my paternal grandfather! Unfortunately I never saw him as he died in 1933 and I was born in 1939. He was pastor of St Paul's Lutheran Church in Brooklyn for many years--I don't know exactly how many, but my records show him being married in his church on 24 September 1901 by a good friend and guest pastor. He had a son Walter (my father) and two daughters. My dad was born in 1902 and was baptized by Rev Riedel in the church. When my dad grew up, he was married by his father, Rev J.P. Riedel, on 12 June 1930 in his St Paul's Lutheran Church. Therefore, Rev John Paul Riedel was pastor at St Paul's for at least 30 years--prior to 24 Sept 01 to after 12 Jun 1930 (probably until close to his death in 1933.)
