Dear Judge Woolpert,

This doesn't have anything to do with genealogy, but I was wondering if you are the same person whom I use to work with at McDonald's in SLO years ago, I think 1970. My brother Neal Myers was one of the Managers there. It was the first McDonalds in SLO. Also you signed my divorce papers in 1975. One of the best 145 lbs I ever did lose. I never forgot the evening you popped me with that towel, at work. I can still feel the sting on my right cheek just thinking about it. Anyway, I dare not recepicate now.

The reason I am writing is to say hello and to also say. I might have a connection to your Cross ancestor, Lillian who married Tom Ridout, but not positively for sure. I am not a direct descendant of the Cross family, they are my cousin's family, they were from Iowa, and I believe they settled in Indian Territory, prior to Oklahoma becoming a state. If I find a connection I will get back with you and share what information I have. I have been researching genealogical records for the past 40 years.

I just retired from the US Postal Service, actually they were screwing with me, and was going to force me into disability retirement, which would have paid me 40%, but like a dummy, I took regular retirement which gives me 56% of my salary. I filed an EEO complaint for Disability Discrimination, wanting to get back to work. Because I feel I am still too young to retire. Unfortunately, the USPS is having financial woes like the rest of the country. They wouldn't have been in this shape had they listen to some of their employees who had suggested ideas they had, but was told by their supervisor's to "shut up, and get back to your work." That employee Alexander Graham Bell, and the rest is history. Well history repeated itself, when the guy who developed the internet, also was told by his Postal Supervisor to get back to work.

Are you still practicing Law? I just received a 30% increase in my disability rating with the Veterans Administration and after I have the lap band surgery, they will be sending me back to school to learn something or train me for another field of employment. I thought of studying to become a paralegal and wanted to get your suggestion. I come from a family of several lawyers. Some told me to pursue it, others say think about it, because it is gruesome work. Two cousins of mine you might know, served on the bench from Los Angeles, they were Judge Alexander Early and Judge William Huss, both now dead. I do have a small problem, and that is memory, unless I write things down, I forget things, so that would limited me going to law school to become an attorney. So therefore, I thought about becoming a paralegal. I would be happy to hear from you.

I will be up in your neck of the woods next week. Sad news is my mother passed away on the second of July, a day before her 75th birthday, and we (my brothers and sister) will be burying her beside my youngest brother and father in the Cayucos Cemetery. I don't know all the details yet, because of the 4th of July holidays and everything is closed. But I think the funeral will be on Thursday. My brother Jesse is a California Police Officer in SLO, Jerry and Renee will be flying in from other states, and I will drive up from my home in Lancaster, California. Maybe if you get this in time, we could get together and say hello. Hopefully you do remember me after all these years.

Best wishes to you,

Dennis Simpson
