Thanks for answering Heather. Are you a teacher or student?
I have some census info on the Ridinger's. My gggrandparents were born in Ohio, James & Diana Ridinger.
According to the census info that I found in 1860 they were living in Illinois. Before that they had lived in Missouri and some of their children were born there. However, they are buried in Lick Fork Cemetery near Breckinridge, Mo. There children are Ellen A, Meury A. John A., Sarah Jane (my greatgrandmother) Nicholas M., & Charley.
In 1850 in Randolph County, Ill. we found Jesse and Mary Ann Ridinger with James & Diana and their other children living with them. Showing Jesse born in Va. and Mary Ann born in Ohio. I believe Jesse & Mary Ann are my ggggrandparents. Children James 26 Ohio; Diana 21 Ohio; Nicholas P. 19 Ind; Jasper 17 Ind.;Jesse 15 Ind.;Mary J. 12 Ind.;Isaac J 9 Ind. Rubin 6 Ind.; Eliza E 4 Ind.; Ellen Ann 1 Ill.
We have always been told of being Cherokee descent. Have you found any one with Roll Numbers? Sometimes the information on death certificates does not match the census.
Who are the Joseph Ridinger/Sara Ridinger you had on the forum?
Thanks again and hope to hear from you soon.
