Regarding the birthdate of Godfrey Ridge of Mississippi - I ordered a copy of the Soldier's Application for Pension from Tennessee (He filed for this at a time when he was living with a son) ... He states on this application that he was born in Lawrence County, South Carolina in 1815 "to the best of my recallection". He also states that his family consists of wife - age 66 y/o, children are ages 34, 32, 30, 28, 26, 23, 21, and 19. (4 males and 4 females). I only knew of 3 boys - Robert, Joseph, and Benjamin Harvey.
This application is dated October 24, 1901...Godfrey would have been 86 at the time he applied for this pension.
Anyone know who the other son was?
