The bulk of the evidence suggest that his first wife was Martha Boatman who took the kids and went to Texas during the Civil war and married maybe three more times. (1850 Pontotoc Co MS US Census)

The name on the 1867 marriage bond for his second wife is
C. A. Elifin (or Elifir) Alexander. This is the wife that my
aunts said was a Cobb. A D.D.Cobb signed the marriage bond
with Godfrey. How have you linked her to an Isaac Washington
Cobb?
