I am an Investigator with the Lake County Sheriff office in Tiptonville, TN.Yesterday (10-6-2010) a citizen discovered some old head stones. The lake here is at record low levels and the stones were discovered just below the water line.
one of the thead stones is marked:
Martha Rider
wife of Reuben
Born April 30-1786
unfortunately the stone is broke off below this and does not indicate a date of death.
My research indicates Martha could have been Martha Leach married to Reuben Rider May 4, 1815 in Wilson Co. Tn.
The union may have produced Rebecca Ann Rider b 7-22-1816, Sophia Rider b 1-18-1819, Sarah E. Rider b 1821, Martha H. Rider b 8-12-1822, and Amanda J. Rider b 10-11-1824.Thus indicating Martha died some time after 1824.
My research shows Reuben died around 7-29-1838.I think he is going to be related to Reuben Rider Tipton from Lake County, TN.
Can anyone provide any further information on Reuben or Martha Rider or information they may have lived in West Tn.I am unable to locate a date of death on Martha nor can I find any connection to Northwest Tn.
Also have head stones for the following but no information:
Nannie Vaughn
died 9-26-1875
aged 39 years (putting date of birth around 1836)
Leroy Watson
died 4-24-1868
aged 17yrs, 3m, 13ds (putting date of birth 1-11-1851)
Thanks in advance:
Joseph Vernon
