Hi Vickie - Thank you SO MUCH for the great information on the Riddlestine/Warme families.I believe that Xavier Warme was my grandfather's (Frank Xavier Smith's) uncle.Frank was born Francis Xavier Schmidtkonz on 1/3/68 in Tirschenreuth, Bavaria. His mother's name was Anna & I need to know her maiden name.I am assuming it must be Warme as Xavier Warme must have been her brother. In my grandfather's obituary it states that he came to this country in 1884 accompanied by an uncle, which would not have been Xavier as he came much earlier, and that he came to the Mauston area.Did Xavier have another brother who came over here? One of the places that Frank traveled to after leaving Mauston was Washington state & I understand that Xavier Warme's son John was living in Seattle in 1910. Frank's parents and 2 brothers (Joseph & Valentin) & sister (Lena) did not come to America.Anna Schmidtkonz' maiden name does not appear on any documents in this country.Relatives listed in my grandfather's funeral book were Mr. & Mrs. Matt Riddlestine, Mrs. Margaret (Riddlestine) Powers & Lena Warme (Anna Warme Riddlestine's unmarried sister).I also have a family picture ca. 1930 of MANY of the Riddlestines at my grandfather's farm in Granton,WI, which is where he finally settled down with his wife Ida Zess Smith.I am the daughter of his daughter Alice. Her brothers were Raymond, Urban & Vernon.Everyone in my family that would know anything about our history is deceased. I was born after my grandparent's died.
