I believe that Harvey & James Riddle/Riddles both of whom were born in Illinois married Smith sisters, i.e.Harvey/Polly and James/Lucinda]. The sisters are listed on 1850 Ark.census ,Carroll Co.,Osage township as:
William Smith 57 Va.- [abt. 1793]
Polly " 55 NC.- [abt. 1795]
Polly " 19 Mo.- [abt. 1831]
Lucinda " 17 Mo.- [abt. 1833]
Louisa " Mo.
Caroline " Mo.
Harvey age 29, is listed w/Richard & Celia while James age 24, is living in another household in Prairie township.
Both brothers along with their families moved to Texas, served in CSA, Harvey later is living in Lucinda J. Riddels household in Lockhart, Caldwell Co., Tx. It seems both James and Polly have died. I have always wondered why Harvey lived in his sister-in-law's household. The Riddles boys married Smith sisters, all were close-knit family and I think this explains it.
