I was born in 1935 in Valencia -Spain-
after some research I got the ancestry of my name (Rico) back to 1710 as most of my ancestors lived in Aranda de Duero, near Burgos. This is documented. Very likely, although not yet documented is the origin of the name that traces back to the year 1212 and comes from Luarca (Asturias-Spain). Less likely the name comes from visigods kings. I got some information of the name through 8th to 17th century. Very common first names in the branch to which I belong are Manuel, Fernando and Santiago. There is no risk thas this name vanishes. As a sample I have 5 sons and daughters and 6 grandsons, bloods coming from Italy to Taiwan. If any of my potential cousins is interested in more detailed information, I'll be glad to e-mail it.
