My name is spelled wrong on this site, I'm Fred Glausier. My mother is Sallie Belle Ricks Glausier and she'll be 90 Nov 21 and still going strong! Her parents were George Calvin (b. Mar 24,1871 and d. July 11, 1937)and Mary Ayers Ricks. Her granparents were George Henderson ( b.Dec 13, 1831 and d.April 23,1909) and Sallie Ann White Ricks ( d.1880) They married Dec. 2, 1855 and had 8 children. Her sister, Aunt Alice Leona White moved in to help with all the kids and they married May 12, 1882. They only had 1 son, Captain Walters Rick b. Mar 17, 1884 and died Oct 20, 1961. George then married Betti Ann Norton Nov 19,1890. Betti Ann was b.1867 and died Dec. 24 1914 in Moultrie Ga. (Colquitt county. They had 5 children; William Lee b Aug. 29 1892, d Oct 6, 1918; Mattie Jane b Aug 23, 1895 and d Oct 17, 1955; Watson Elias b Mar 3 1898 d.Dec 30,1959; Addie Leona b Nov 15, 1900 d.Dec 14, 1976; Ewell Early b Nov 23,1903 d. July 23, 1968.
How does this fit in with the history that you were able to find? George Henderson's father was Thomas Henderson from N.C. and died in Worth county, Ga. He was married to Sarah Taylor but I am still looking for dates of birth and deathsk also when they were married. Sarah's parents were Arthur and Alsey Taylor. They had 5 children; George H.;Henry b. Feb 21, 1834 d. ?;Marth H. b. May 15, 1836 ; Morning I. b. Jan 11, 1839; John R. b.Mar 12, 1841. Thomas H. was my mother's great grandfather.
I am still looking for Thomas's father and on down the line. My mother remembers Uncle Henry and the rest of the kids. There is a Ricks family reunion in June every year in Moultie Ga. if your interested. All the family from all three wives are there.... Does this help alittle?
