The SCV is currently sponsoring a preservation/restoration project in Henderson Co., NC, and will be doing a clean up of the Rickman family cemetery, Sycamore, on March 12, 2005 at 10:00 rain or shine. Bring gloves, rakes, pruners, etc.
This will also be an old fashioned decoration day, so bring flowers to place on the graves, and dinner on the grounds, so bring your favorite covered dish. A 21 gun salute for our Civil War Veterans and for Rev. War Veteran Jesse Rickman, will be given by members of the SCV in period dress uniforms.
If you know any family members in the area that would like to be there to participate, please contact them.
Bring your genealogy notes and a camera!
