This is what I have found out so far- I descend from Rachel Ricketts b. 10 Oct 1791 near Elkton, MD d. 31 May 1864 ( Thomas and Nancy's daughter) who married Samuel Cahoon ( ca 1809) b 28 Jun 1778 Kent Co. DE d. 1 May 1820 Kent Co., DE of Smyrna. Their son William Ricketts Cahoon b. 1 Oct 1813 Kent Co, DE d. 9 Aug 1885 near Dover, DE m Louisa Benson b. 11 July 1817 Smyrna, DE d. 11 May 1851 Smyrna. They married 20 April 1834 , Parlor of the Benjamin Benson home in Smyrna. Benjamin Benson was the noted carriage maker of his day in Smyrna. William worked for him. He lived with Louisa in a house in Smyrna which is now on the National Registrar for Historic Buildings. Their daughter Lydia Ann Cahoon 23 Jun 1842 Smyrna d. 15 April 1902 married James Cotton b 17 Sept 1833 probably MD d. 8 Sept 1889 Smyrna on 30 Oct. 1866 in Smryna. Their duaghter Nora West Cotton 26 Jul 1869 d 18 April 1937 m. William Fletcher Brown b. 28 Dec 1865 d. 3 May 1952 Philadelphia on 1 Feb 1893. Their son Alan Benson Brown 1903-1978 m. Miriam Mitchell Powell 1902-1996 on 20 Oct 1923. They lived in Philadelphia. Their daughter Virginia Fletcher Brown m. Robert Gray Hardin which brings one to me- Debra Lee Hardin who married Samuel Fishburn Woody II of Virginia. We have a daughter , Mary Louise Woody b. 27 Dec 1988. I do have a copy of the William Ricketts Cahoon Family bible ,and a copy of a few of the pages from the Nancy Sipple Ricketts bible.
