You hit the jackpot!!
My Dad remembers Monroe, Dad was born in Cold Springs, OK in 1928.He went to High School in Roosevelt. He doesn't remember him as "Pete" only Monroe.
Monroe was son of John & Ulah (I have a copy of her funeral announcement)
John's brother, Roger "Butch" Roland Rickerd is my Grandfather.
John Leslie served in the war, November, 1917, Company "M" in Camp Travis, San Antonio, TX. (I wrote away for his service records.Don't really say much)
Roger had 9 kids and 5 are still living. There is an MSN group "Roosevelt from A to Z" that also may have high school photos (I found my Dad's) along with people who will remember him.I got some responses on 'memories' people have.
John & Roger & Catherine's Dad was Roy Leslie Rickerd (called "Doc" - he was a vet) and Anna Belle Friedline.
Roy's parents were John C. Rickerd & Mary J. Sutton.John C. came from Hesse-Darmstadt region in Germany. (Am stuck as to what town & ship)
Roy's brothers were Charles & Oren.
I do have pictures of Doc Rickerd, John, Roger & Catherine (looks to be in their 20's)
Anna Belle's parents were Samuel Friedeline & Elizabeth.Their kids were Ibba J., Joseph E., Mary, Catherine, Jacob, John J., Anna Belle (b June 6, 1874), Amelia Rosettia, and Emma M.
I have years of birth, and more. How much do you want and do you want it?I'm writing a book, but have gone more straight back rather than lateral.
