French Descent Rickers and German Rickers

It's been a while since I posted to this Ricker Board, the original surname of my late husband's family. I wonder if users of this forum realize that there are at least two Ricker families, or different nationalities of Rickers, those who descend from the French Riccarts, Rickards, etc from the Isle of Jersey or Normandy, and those from Germany or perhaps Holland. I have even heard that there were Ricards from Spain. Of course, America being such a melting pot and a nation of wanderes, there are probably descendents of the original Riccards of New Hampshire and Maine who married into the German Ricker families by now.
