I don't have any records for Peter in Philadelphia Co., but I believe he was in Northampton Co. during the war and served with a Ranging Unit. That is unless there is another Peter. However, I am 50% sure as his future wife's family was living in the Northampton area as well during the war.

The 1790 PA census is interesting because the Smithers are supposed to have been in the same 3 counties at one time or another as the Rickers.

Pennsylvania Co.--John Richer--Germantown
Lancaster Co.--Frederick Ricker--Little Britian TWP
Northampton co.--Andrus Ricker--Lower Saucon TWP

Lots of hard work to do to get it documented properly.
