MI mining injuries (from mine inspectors report): Alfred Rickard - 23 May 1895, North Quincy Mine - May 23 an accident occurred in No. 6 shaft, North Quincy Mine. Alfred Rickard was struck on the head by a piece of timber falling down the shaft fracturing his skull. It is not known as to where the timber fell from. From The Mining Gazette of Houghton Co., Michigan: 1904 May 8 Sunday - the funeral service of William Rickard who died Thursday at his home at the Mohawk Mine location will be held today at the Mohawk. Burial will be at Lake View Cemetery, Calumet. In 1910, Mrs. William Rickard, age 65, widowed, b. England, is living with son Roy Rickard, age 34 MI, an engineer-mine, in Keweenaw Co. Michigan, Alluez twp. In 1920 (Sarah J.,age 75) and 1930 (Sarah, age 85), she's living with daughter Lillie/Lily (Mrs. William Simmons) in Houghton Co., MI, Quincy twp.
