Jean, There is a story in my family that a Richardson/Richeson (?) was married to an Indian woman and left for the Civil War.She was pregnant. Her people, the Indians, came and got her and took her back to her people. When the Indians realized she was pregnant, they brought her back to the white people. Her husband never returned from the Civil War.He was killer by carpetbeggars. These people lived in Southern Missouri.I believe that child married a Thompson. Then a thompson daughter married a Bishop. My grandmother was Minnie Bishop who married John B. Groce. They lived around West Plains MO but moved in and out of Arkansas and Illinois. My grandmother and grandfather Minnie and John Groce died in Illinois.Does any of this sound familiar.I was told that Richeson met the Indian woman when he was at a salt lick getting salt.
