Joseph Adolph Hubert Richarz, DOB 31, May, 1850, Hilden, Germany, is my great grandfather. I found a christening record in Germany listing his father as Johann Richarz and mother as Wilhelmine Berger. I've been unable to find any trace of them before or after that...until I found Joseph married 1876 in Travis County, Texas to Augusta Schultz, and 1880 census in Giddings and 1900 Harris County. There was a notation on the census that he immigrated in 1849, and family history says it was via Galveston.

Any connections out there you can suggest or resources to try? I'm using the family search pilot site, and am basically unfamiliar with German resources.
