Michael,

Am descended from Heinrich Joseph Richarz and Josefa (or Josepha) Schafhausen down through Ida Richarz Rudinger, Johanna Christina Rudinger Rothe, and Selma Marie Rothe Laughlin Crabb. My Heinrich, son of Peter Wilhelm Richarz and Christina Helpertz, was born in/near either Eller or Eltersburg, Dusseldorf, Prussia. Heinrich emigrated in 1849/50. He ended up in Texas, living out his days near D'Hanis, Medina County. Was recently provided with a list of his seven siblings. At least one, Margareta, also migrated to America. Would like to know more about the part of the family which remained in what is now Germany and correspond with family members. Heinrich served as senior engineer of the Prince Wilhelm Railroad, District of Berg and Mark, prior to departing Prussia. He and Josefa had nine children.
This information may not help you, but perhaps somewhere along the line we are related.
We have a Rudinger/Richarz/Guly/Weber family reunion every two years--the next is in September 2003.
