Moses Richardson - Green Family - African American Texas 1906
I recently purchased a photo in Colorado Springs of the Green family. The photo is dated 1906-07 and contains 14 family members all of whom are identified in the margins of the photo. It is specifically the african american family of Dick and Nicy Green. The photo shows Dick & Nicy, two son-in-laws, Napoleon Smith husband of Eva Green Smith and Louis Jackson Jarrels? (name not clear). It also has Beatrice Green Woodard and her son Aderson (Adison)Woodard. There is an infant named Laura Lee Green and two young girls, Luella and Nicy. There are 14 family members in all. The photo has the name and address of Moses Richardson on the reverse but it is obviously very old and no longer valid (Denver, CO address). I have tracked Moses Richardson to the family of Octavia (Green) Swanson's daughter Eugenia Swanson and husband Bennie. I haven't been able to carry it any further. I would like to get this photo into the hands of a family member who will treasure it for the historically significant item that it is. I would love to hear from african american members of the Green, Richardson, Swanson or Woodard families.
