I think I know this family, but perhaps you can fill in the blanks.
Caleb (b 1799, VA) and Celia (Umphries)(b 1802, Ky) Richardson of Tipton County, Indiana, had some 16 children. Of those who made it to adult were at least two who moved to Washington.
These were Cynthia Ann,b. 1826, Boone Co., IN, m. George B. W. Parks. They traveled across the Oregon Trail in 1853, lived in Douglas County, and eventually, Whitman Co. WA.
Caleb H. b ca 1848 in IN, m. Ruth B. Dick in 1868. They moved to first Kansas, then Oregon, then by 1879, Washington Terr. I believe they were also in Whitman County.
Your Andrew Jackson is probably the brother born ca 1834 in Tipton Co., IN.
I couldn't match all of this up in the census, but given that Kokomo, Howard Co., is just north of Tipton, and your Andrew Jackson named a child Caleb, and another George Howard, it makes sense. Also, the fact that your family lived in and around the mines, as did all the younger men in this family, we may have a match.
Problem is that somewhere along the way in the census, Geo's father became born in PA, and his mother in IL. Can't be right, but then I've got some really dandy things like that for GBW Parks and his family as well.
Celia is buried in the cemetery at Colton, as are Cynthia, and I think, Caleb and Ruth.
If this seems to fit, let me know.
